I wanted to design a horror poster, something unique and eye catching that would send chills, so I came up with ‘Sisters of the Unsealed’.
I decided to go for a spooky background, like it had to look something dark, explosive, I lowered the contrast, gave it a darker look, but also maintaining the cold blue grey theme that would pop out behind the woman.
The woman in the foreground needed to stay emotional anchor so I gave her more color tone and vibrance so she stayed the main focus, her body language was a perfect fit for the poster, especially the way she stood and positioned her hands upon her neck.
I lifted her vibrance by adding a LUT and adjusted the colour of her hair, made it look more darker so it blended perfectly, and also it made her pop against the chaos behind her.

For the font, I chose Violent from Envato which ties directly to the horror aesthetic.
The Sisters themselves were blended perfectly together they both are dominating to heighten the atmosphere.
What’s interesting is the man behind the woman, symbolizing how the Sisters have grip on him, again I brightened the layer so that it remained visible to the scene, this I felt raised the stakes with the woman panicking.
I finally added a LUT to give it the epic cinematic feel this poster deserved, including a subtitle. This is one of my original IP concepts created, built to feel like a horror film ready for the big screen.
